What does a 3d print cost and what should I consider?
More and more people are having models 3d printed. It is a great technique: your digital model is printed out as a real object just like that! With our 3d printing service you can create almost any object you can think of. From personalized key rings to elaborate art projects, from models to very precise models for medical use: a lot is possible.
Funnily enough, there is a perception that 3d printing is still very expensive. With our 3d printing service, this is actually not the case at all. Anyway, the easiest, cheapest and fastest way is to have your models printed by a professional. Then you don't have to buy and operate your own 3d printer: just send us your 3d model, and we'll print your object and send it to you. At 3DMarc, you've come to the right place!
Want to know the approximate cost of having an object 3d printed? We would like to give you some 3d printing service cost examples, so you can get an idea of what is possible and what it costs approximately.
What does it cost to have an object printed?
You might not think so, but in reality, having three-dimensional objects printed is not that expensive at all. Of course: if you want to be able to do 3d printing at home, you need to invest in your own 3d printer and materials, and it will take you quite some time to master the whole process. But if you provide a model to a professional printing service, it all takes no time at all!
How much does it cost to have a 3d model printed? Above, you've already seen some 3d printing service cost examples. Again, the cost is different for each object. It doesn't have much to do with the complexity of the model. How much it costs depends mainly on the size of the object to be printed and the material you want to use. The precision with which it is printed also matters for the final cost.
Is 3d printing always cheaper? That depends a bit on what you want to have printed. To give an example, if the refrigerator handle breaks off at your house, you will probably be cheaper by reordering the part from the store. Having it printed will be more expensive.
But would you like to have a unique object made? Or have you designed something yourself that you now want in "real life"? Then a 3d printing service is a very attractive option!

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) nylon is a special material used in 3D printing with SLS technology. Some notable material properties of SLS nylon are:
- Durability and Strength:
- SLS nylon is known for its excellent durability and strength. The material is able to withstand mechanical loads well, making it suitable for functional prototypes and end-use applications.
- Flexibility:
- A distinctive property of SLS nylon is its flexibility. The material retains its integrity and shape even under bending and stretching, making it suitable for parts that require a degree of flexibility.
- Chemical Resistance:
- SLS nylon exhibits good resistance to chemicals, making it suitable for applications where exposure to various chemicals may occur.
- Heat resistance:
- The material has reasonable heat resistance, making it suitable for applications where it is subject to elevated temperatures. This also makes it suitable for applications such as injection molds.
- Lightweight:
- SLS nylon is a lightweight material, which contributes to the efficiency of the printed components, especially in applications where weight reduction is important.
- High Accuracy and Fine Details:
- SLS nylon is known for its ability to achieve high resolution and fine detail during the printing process. This makes it ideal for producing detailed prototypes and complex geometries.
- Good Surface Finish:
- The SLS printing system typically produces a good surface finish, which minimizes post-processing. This contributes to the aesthetic quality of the printed parts.
Combined with the advantages of SLS printing technology, SLS nylon offers designers and engineers a versatile material suitable for a variety of applications in industries ranging from product development to the production of functional end products.

How does 3D printing work?
A 3d printer can quickly print out digital models as real objects. The printing technique works as follows: the model is divided into very thin layers. These are then sprayed with liquid plastic (or other materials). By accumulating these layers, a model is eventually formed in 3D. This can be done with incredible precision: depending on the printer, up to 0.001 mm accuracy.
The 3D printing technique works by using very small layers of plastic or other material, which are piled up. 3DMarc uses two types of printers, so we can always guarantee the best results:
- An FDM printer, for precision down to 0.01mm
- An SLA printer, which can print precisely to 0.001mm (smaller objects).
Because of the way printing technology works, a lot is possible. From fat gadget to custom animation puppet, from personalized keychain to complete maquette: there are an awful lot of applications to think of. More and more designers and artists are using this method to create special and complex objects. But 3d printing is also becoming increasingly common in the medical sector. The degree of precision plays a major role in this.
With exceptional precision, the 3D printer builds an object, layer by layer. The final result is a tangible version of the desired object. From fat gadget to custom animated puppet, from personalized keychain to complete maquette: there are an awful lot of applications to think of.

A custom quote for your 3d print?
Want something 3D printed? At 3DMarc you will always get a customized quote. This will take into account all your wishes. The main factors that determine the price are.
Do you provide a ready-made 3D file, or does it need to be modified or created?
More is possible with 3d printing than you can imagine, so think about what you want to print, make drawings and ask us for advice.
What color and material do you choose?
All colors of the rainbow are available, as well as, for example, with glitter or transparent. In addition, it is also important to know whether you want hard or soft material?
What are the dimensions of the object?
For example, 3d printers are limited in size, so a size elephant is unfortunately not yet possible.
With what precision should the object be printed?
In your design, are details less important or do you want to be able to see all the little grooves in fine detail?
Do you have these questions specifically or need advice? Then we are here for you!
